Contisystems joins the UN Global Compact

Contisystems is proud to announce that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact), the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. This commitment reinforces our dedication to aligning business operations and strategies with universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption.

What is the UN Global Compact?

Launched in 2000 by then UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, the UN Global Compact is a call for companies around the world to align their operations and strategies with the Ten Universal Principles in the areas of Human Rights, Labor, Environment and Anti-Corruption, developing actions that contribute to tackling society's challenges. It is currently the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with more than 25,000 participants, including companies and organizations, distributed in more than 67 local networks, with coverage and engagement on all continents.

Why is this commitment important?

Joining the UN Global Compact reflects our commitment to promoting responsible business practices that benefit the environment and society. By integrating the Ten Principles of the Compact into our operations, we commit to:

  • Human Rights: Respect and support the protection of internationally recognized human rights and ensure that we are not complicit in abuses of these rights.
  • Labor: Support freedom of association, eliminate all forms of forced labor, effectively abolish child labor and eliminate discrimination in employment.
  • Environment: Adopt a preventive approach to environmental challenges, promote greater environmental responsibility and encourage the development of environmentally friendly technologies.
  • Anti-corruption: Fighting corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

In addition to the Ten Principles, the UN Global Compact encourages companies to contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the UN, which aim to tackle global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. At Contisystems, we are particularly committed to:

  • SDG 8: Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
  • SDG 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.
  • SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
  • SDG 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources.
  • SDG 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, combat desertification and halt land degradation and biodiversity loss.
  • SDG 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

Next steps

As a participant in the UN Global Compact, we are committed to reporting annually on progress in implementing the principles through the Communication on Progress (CoP). This public report will demonstrate the actions we are taking to integrate the principles of the Compact into our strategies, culture and daily operations.

We believe that joining the UN Global Compact will strengthen our mission to offer innovative technological solutions while maintaining a firm commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. We are excited about the opportunities this commitment will bring and are confident that, together, we can contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.
