Requalify and Develop, the key words for the coming years

The World Economic Forum, in 2020, even before the pandemic broke out, had already warned of the need to retrain around half of the world's workers by 2025, as a result of increased automation and the development of new technologies, which are transforming the world of work.

In fact, we all recognize in our daily lives various technological changes and improvements that have had an impact on someone's job, and which have meant that they have had to be replaced or adapted.

And we are moving towards these changes becoming more frequent and more significant, so it is up to us to ensure that we are keeping up with technological evolution and growth, and that we are acquiring new professional skills that allow us to retrain to keep up with this evolution.

Everyone, individually and together, has the opportunity to keep up with the market, to develop our skills and retrain whenever our jobs require it, because the key competencies that were critical to success a few years ago are going to start undergoing significant changes, and these changes are expected to start manifesting themselves more significantly as early as 2022.

Is our school and vocational education prepared? Are companies aware of these demands? Are workers receptive and prepared?

If we fail to keep up with this growth and the new demands, reinventing our learning models and our educational content, which is often rigid and outdated, we will be hostage to our own limitations and will not be able to keep up with the demands of the job market.

It will therefore be essential to focus on the increasingly accurate forecasts of the skills and functions of the future, to ask ourselves how we can train ourselves to get there, and thus create human capital development plans that will enable us to succeed.

This is the responsibility of governments, companies and workers, and everyone has to do their part. We at Contisystems are already focused on doing our part.
