FSC: The Sustainable Choice that Adds Value to Your Brand

Contisystems' commitment to sustainability

Over the years, Contisystems has strengthened its commitment to sustainability. One of the most tangible forms of this commitment is the FSC - Forest Stewardship Council certification, which allows us to provide our customers with paper that comes from forests that are managed responsibly from an environmental, social and economic point of view.

FSC certification: more than a market requirement

FSC certification is now an internationally recognized seal of confidence. Therefore, more than a market requirement, it is a commitment to the future.

Principles that protect biodiversity and communities

Forests managed according to the FSC principles follow strict criteria that respect biodiversity, the rights of local communities and the rights of workers. These principles ensure that the extraction of raw materials is carried out responsibly, avoiding illegal deforestation, promoting natural regeneration and protecting sensitive habitats.

Chain of custody: guarantee from start to finish

FSC certification doesn't end in the forest. Through the so-called "chain of custody", it is possible to guarantee that the final product maintains the traceability of the certified raw material throughout its processing and distribution. Contisystems is part of this process, which means that everyone involved - from the forestry producer to the end customer - complies with clear rules, audited and verified by independent bodies.

Certified paper as a communication tool

The FSC-certified paper that can be used in our clients' services is not just a physical support - it is, above all, a strategic communication and brand positioning tool. By integrating this type of paper into their communication materials, services or institutional publications, our clients convey a clear message of environmental responsibility and commitment to sustainability.

A reflection of the organization's values

Each printed document is no longer just a functional medium, but reflects the organization's values: respect for nature, transparency in business practices, commitment to preserving forest ecosystems and promoting more ethical and transparent supply chains. This is a conscious choice that contributes to a more balanced and sustainable future.

Alignment with ESG criteria

In this context, using FSC-certified paper is not just a technical choice, but a real change in mentality and an affirmation of principles that reinforce the credibility of your brand and alignment with ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria, which are increasingly valued by consumers and partners.

Quality, efficiency and respect for the planet

Contisystems is proud to be able to support its customers in this transition to more sustainable solutions, without compromising the quality of the materials or the efficiency of the processes. The FSC-certified paper we make available to our partners has the same technical performance as conventional paper, with the added benefit of being aligned with the values we should all promote: responsibility, transparency and respect for the planet.

A strategic decision for the entire value chain

The choice of FSC paper is a strategic decision that clearly reflects the commitment of all parties involved to ESG principles throughout their value chain.

Where Does Contisystems' Role Come From?

At Contisystems, every choice we make reflects our values. We believe that the excellence of our services starts at the source - and the paper we use in our printing processes is an excellent example of this.

In this article, we explain why we choose Iberian paper suppliers and how this decision reinforces our commitment to quality, sustainability and operational efficiency.

Why we choose paper from Iberian suppliers

Most of the paper we use is supplied by Portuguese companies, supplemented by partners in Spain. This choice is supported by four main factors:

  • Geographical proximity
  • Relationships of trust
  • More sustainable solutions
  • High quality standards

More than a question of logistics, this is a strategy designed to ensure that our processes are more efficient and have less environmental impact.

Advantages of proximity

Working with suppliers located in Portugal and Spain brings concrete benefits to our business - and to our customers:

  • Faster and more predictable deliveries
  • Reducing the carbon footprint of transportation
  • Greater agility in responding to specific needs
  • Better quality control and direct relationship with producers

This proximity allows us to maintain operational excellence, minimizing risks in the supply chain.

Technical quality you can feel

The paper we use has to meet high technical demands. You need:

  • Good graphic definition
  • Excellent behavior in printing equipment
  • Consistent finish

Our suppliers meet strict technical criteria and hold international certifications, such as the FSC®, which guarantee the responsible origin of the raw material.

Commitment to sustainability

Choosing Iberian suppliers is also a way of reinforcing our commitment to the environment. The paper we use is:

  • Produced from responsibly managed forests
  • Manufactured using renewable energy wherever possible
  • Involved in environmentally optimized production processes

In addition, by reducing transportation distances, we contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

A decision with added value

Choosing paper produced in the Iberian Peninsula represents a vision of the future. For us, it means:

  • Supporting the local economy
  • Promoting responsible environmental practices
  • Ensuring quality and traceability
  • Making our supply chain more resilient

At Contisystems, we believe that the quality of our services starts with conscious decisions. The paper we use is more than a physical support - it's a reflection of our commitment to excellence, to our customers and to the planet.

And when the origin is closer and aligned with our values, the positive impact multiplies.

Our ISO 14001 Certification

We are proud to announce that we are now ISO 14001:2015 certified. This certification validates our commitment to environmental management and sustainability, ensuring that we adopt best practices to protect the environment in our operations.

What is ISO 14001:2015?

ISO 14001:2015 is an international standard that defines the requirements for an effective environmental management system. This standard helps companies to identify, control and reduce the environmental impact of their activities, promoting continuous improvement in terms of environmental performance.

A reflection of our corporate values

ISO 14001:2015 is not just another certification, it represents our values as a company and our real commitment to the environment. With this recognition, our clients can be sure that they are working with a partner who:

- It adopts the best environmental practices in its activities of production, personalization and digital custody of documents in a secure environment, application development to support information management;

- It seeks continuous improvement in its environmental performance.

- It integrates sustainability into our business strategy, contributing to a more sustainable future.

We believe that protecting the environment is a responsibility we should all share - and we are dedicated to doing our bit.

We are excited about the opportunities this commitment will bring and are confident that, together, we can contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.

Our Commitment to Sustainability: Measuring and Reducing the Carbon Footprint

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we have implemented a rigorous process of measuring our carbon footprint in collaboration with CarbonQuota. This milestone represents more than an analysis; it is a reflection of our commitment to adopting more sustainable business practices, aligning our strategic objectives with the demands of a world undergoing rapid environmental transformation.

Like other leading companies in the sector, we recognize that measuring and understanding the environmental impact of our operations is essential to implementing meaningful change. A detailed carbon footprint assessment not only provides a clear view of emissions, but also paves the way for structured planning, allowing us to adopt reduction strategies that promote efficiency and innovation.

Commitment to Reducing Emissions

The results obtained show a clear focus on key areas for reducing emissions:

  • Renewable Energy: The transition to clean and sustainable energy sources, such as 100% renewable electricity tariffs, is a priority.
  • Process optimization: Investing in the modernization of air conditioning infrastructures, promoting greener alternatives.
  • More sustainable mobility solutions: Planning to replace fossil fuel vehicles with electric and bioenergy technologies, in line with best practices in the sector.

We see carbon footprint measurement and analysis as an opportunity to improve our environmental performance, particularly in the key areas identified. With the support of CarbonQuota, we ensure that our data is accurate and reliable, allowing us to transparently communicate the progress made over time. This commitment strengthens our position as a trusted partner for customers and stakeholders who value sustainable and innovative solutions.

A Vision for the Future

Aware of the need for continuous progress, we are committed to integrating sustainability into all levels of the organization. Through structured initiatives, investments in clean technology and a corporate culture focused on environmental responsibility, we are moving forward with confidence towards a greener future.

We invite all our partners and clients to join forces on this journey of transformation, reaffirming that sustainability is a collective goal. This collaborative approach not only contributes to a positive environmental impact, but also strengthens the company's resilience and competitiveness in increasingly demanding markets.

The Advantages of Being Part of an Iberian Group

The Advantages of Being Part of an Iberian Group

Last summer, we took a significant step forward in the service we provide to our customers. By joining the MailComms Group, we have not only consolidated our position in the Iberian market, we have doubled our production capacity and incorporated a series of advantages that benefit our customers, which we will explore in this article.

Articulated Offer for Companies with an Iberian Presence

One of the main advantages of working with an Iberian group to provide customer communication management services is our ability to offer coordinated solutions to companies with a presence in both Portugal and Spain. With an in-depth understanding of the local markets, and physical production capacity in both, we can tailor our services and solutions to meet the specific needs of companies operating in this region.

Production System Backup

Being part of an Iberian group also provides us with a robust production system backup. This means that we can count on additional resources and operational redundancy to guarantee the continuity of our services, even in adverse situations. By sharing resources and best practices within the group, we can also increase the resilience of our production system and information systems and guarantee uninterrupted operation for our customers.

Doubling Capacity

Another significant advantage is the doubling of capacity. With access to a larger infrastructure and additional resources, we can expand our operations and offer a more comprehensive and efficient service to our customers. This allows us to handle a greater volume of work, meet seasonal peaks in demand and guarantee fast and reliable delivery of our services.

Trusted Service Provider

In addition, membership of this particular group gives us access to additional certifications, applicable at European Union level. Being classified as a trusted service provider enables us to offer a wider range of digital services, such as registered emails and contract signing flows.

Being part of an Iberian group in this field of activity brings with it a number of significant advantages, particularly for our clients, who now find in Contisystems greater geographical, capacity and portfolio coverage.

New Contisystems shareholder structure

We are thrilled to share with all our customers, partners, suppliers and the market in general that Contisystems was acquired last Friday, June 30, by the Spanish group Mailcomms (MailTecK&Customercomms), a leader in the Spanish customer communication services market.

This acquisition promises to bring many new features to the Iberian market for integrated services and solutions for personalized communication for clients, both physical and digital. Among these new features, we would highlight the doubling of production capacity and greater innovation in terms of the service portfolio, particularly in terms of the provision of trust services. Equally important will be the absolutely unique offer that the Mailcomms Group entities will be able to provide in terms of security, with very complete disaster recovery/business continuity scenarios.

The integration process between the companies will involve a careful assessment to align operations, teams and strategies but the aim is to ensure a smooth transition, maximizing opportunities for synergy and growth and guaranteeing that our entire team will be retained. Our CEO, Duarte Conceição, will not only retain his position, but will also join the MailComms Group board.

You will continue to see and talk to Contisystems as always, more than ever, we have the structure, the team and the motivation to give you the best service.

The IPN Innovation Award 2023 is OURS!

But let's go in parts, we want to share everything with you!

What is the IPN?

The IPN is an international organization that brings together renowned entities from all over the world with the aim of sharing best practices. It is a business network of companies that stand for excellence and innovation, which originated in the printing industry, but today operate in different areas, particularly in terms of the digital transformation of processes and communications. We are very proud to be part of a group of companies that we admire for their achievements, results and impact on the community.

What does the Innovation Award mean?

This award distinguishes those who, in such a strong group, have differentiated themselves through their strategic choices, particularly in terms of the products developed and the processes adopted. Now, in a group that we admire so much, this obviously fills us with pride and satisfaction!

Why Contisystems?

In pursuit of our mission to provide companies with the best service in managing communication with their customers, we have focused on developing differentiating services using internal resources and creating strategic alliances with key partners. Products such as the Unicks platform, Registered Emails, Cyberadvisor or the Merece initiative were activities developed with a great deal of commitment and dedication by our team in order to meet the challenges that arose and the trends that made sense to follow. At the same time, the ISO 9001 and 27001 certifications support the quality and security of the data processing in the provision of the services developed.

Whoever wins, thank you!

And because an award that is an award calls for a speech of thanks, here is ours: to our employees who put all their commitment and motivation into serving our clients; to our clients, who trust us and accept our challenges for continuous improvement in communication with their clients; to IPN: thank you for being such an inspiration and for this wonderful recognition!

CyberAdvisor: Get to know Contisystems' new brand

Cybersecurity is increasingly high on companies' priorities. However, it is a topic that usually involves high investments in terms of security solutions and systems, training and resources, and is therefore out of reach for the vast majority of small and medium-sized Portuguese companies.

As processors of sensitive data and working with heavily regulated entities for several decades, we have developed strong cybersecurity skills and competencies.

This is why we decided to use our know-how in this area and put it at the service of national companies that don't have the capacity to have their own cybersecurity department.

And so the CyberAdvisor brand was born.

What services does CyberAdvisor offer?

CyberAdvisor is supported by a team with different levels of expertise in cybersecurity, which is reflected in different types of service, adapted to the needs of each company:

Cybersecurity Domain Scan

It consists of a rapid assessment, based on public data available on the internet about your domain and using as a reference a set of risk vectors identified as relevant to your sector.

Cyber Risk Mitigation

This is our most comprehensive program, which can be customized according to your company's needs. As a rule, we start this plan with a full assessment of your company's cybersecurity maturity. Once the main vulnerabilities have been identified, we propose a prioritized action plan together with the organization. We also monitor its implementation step by step so that these vulnerabilities are controlled or mitigated in the most appropriate way for the organization's context. And because people are a key part of proper cybersecurity risk management, we provide training and information at all stages of this process.

Vulnerability & Threat assessment

We carry out an isolated assessment of the vulnerabilities, whether technological or not, that pose a risk to your company.

Cybersecurity Policy

We design policies and procedures tailored to the context, business and reality of each company to support cybersecurity.

What is our CyberAdvisor offer for?

While cybersecurity insurance is very useful, remember that it doesn't prevent incidents, it only minimizes the financial impact associated with them. And it's usual for this type of insurance to have prerequisites that the organization must demonstrate in terms of information security.

Using this type of consultancy makes you aware of your level of exposure to risk and how you can manage it, finding the best strategies to protect your information assets.

It is also increasingly common for large companies to demand cybersecurity guarantees from their suppliers, either through ratings or qualification and evaluation processes.

We can help you prepare so that no business is jeopardized for this reason.

Contact us and we will quickly carry out a Domain Scan that will give you visibility of the public-level risks to which you are exposed so that you can manage them properly. At a later stage, if you feel it is justified, we can carry out a Cyber Risk Mitigation project which will involve a more in-depth analysis.

Don't put it off, your business deserves to be protected, and it can't stop.
